Well, I’ve finally done it and I’m curious as to how much I will miss it. I’ve deleted, removed, deactived my Instagram and Facebook account.
My Twitter was allready gone, I removed that one the day it was taken over by Musk and changed the name to X. Not that I used that platform as much as Facebook but now I that I noticed Zuckerberg making avances towards losening the rules and his gentle steps in Trump’s direction I knew I was going to leave that platform aswell.
It’s getting to tainted now so I’m moving to alternatives and they are out there.
So you can find me on BlueSky, you can find me on DeviantArt and I’m still on Pinterest aswell for the time being. I’m also looking for some more alternatives and social platforms to explore so if you have any suggestions, please leave it in a comment.
I’ve tried Reddit but that one is to confusing for me.
Anyhew, if you’re stuck in your ways that’s okay but if you’re open to advice, leave Meta & X, they have made themselves impossible.

I wonder what will happen to the vast amount of information there when such services disappear? Maybe it will be better that I should sort out my info on the various shopping sites.

I don’t think these services will dissapear, I know alot of people are leaving X and Facebook because of the choices their CEO’s have made.

My comment was out of line with the main point of your post. I have requested a shop support to deregister there. The support staff immediately makes stop the access to my My Page. But, I was told that it would take days for my information to be completely erased from the shop’s database. One can only trust that shop to really erase my info properly. So I wanted to talking about that it might be safer to rewrite your personal information with blank before you leave any kind of SNS if it is possible.

Yes, you should make sure to remove all data. Because you can no longer access it but they take time to remove it incase you change your mind. It’s 3 months I think, quite long.
